I’ve started prepping my skincare and makeup for the cooler months. Moisturizer every night before bed, lip scrub weekly and drinking a lot of water! I’ve rounded up my favorite moisturizing lip colors that I think will be permanently living in my purse this fall and winter!
#1 Dior Lip Glow Oil; 0.2 oz for $35.00 This Dior Lip Oil is only $35.00 and so beautiful! The color is incredibly pigmented, so a little goes a long way. I absolutely love this lip oil. Of course, we wouldn’t expect anything less from Dior, but this formula is seriously luxurious. Compared to other brands' lip oils, this feels the least “oily,” which I am obsessed with. I know that sounds a little counter-intuitive, but we really want the benefits of an oil and not the greasiness. Makeup Over 40 Tip: A high shine (in comparison to a matte finish) will blur the look of fine lines around the lip line. The shine you get with this lip oil will help minimize those lines and provide you with a really youthful and attractive “blurred” lip line.
#2 Ilia Balmy Tint Hydrating Lip Balm; 0.15 oz for $28.00
The newly released hydrating lip balm by Ilia could quickly become my go-to lip color! It applies like a chapstick (meaning no need to look at a mirror for application) but packs a lot of punch in regards to color.
If you haven’t heard, brown is making a comeback in 2021, and I think this neutral cocoa brown is perfect for fall! I am excited about incorporating this lip color into my daily looks.
#3 Tarte SEA Color Splash Lipstick; 0.12 oz for $21.00
For those of you who feel that you can’t give up a physical lipstick, check out the Tarte Sea Color Splash Lipstick. This lipstick is lightweight, buttery, and smooth. It feels really nice going on and is actually a little slippery at first. I recommend giving yourself a few extra seconds to let it set post-application. I get about 2-3 hours of wear time per application, but I also drink a lot of water throughout the day, which rubs quite a bit off. A lot of other people can get 6-8 hours!
#4 Bobbi Brown Lipstick; 0.12 for $29.00
Sometimes a matte lip can be too harsh for mature skin, but this Bobbi Brown lipstick can make rocking the look possible. The BB classic lipstick is a hydrating semi-matte formula infused with Vitamin C and E plus beeswax.
This formula will give you a really bold lip look and keep from accentuating any wrinkling around the lip line. In addition, it’s very nourishing and perfectly pigmented.
Styling Over 40 Tip: All Bobbie Brown lipsticks are brown-based, even the pinks and reds, meaning they will work well this fall when wearing camel and other browns.
