2022 Summer Beauty Trends You Won't Want to Miss

With summer upon us, how do you go about achieving the perfect sun-kissed look? If you’re stumped, don’t worry — I’m here to help you filter through the 2022 beauty trends to keep you looking and feeling your best without compromising your style. Let’s get started.

Natural Brows

Hard-defined edges are quickly being replaced in favor of a more natural appearance of fuller-looking brows. With a brow gel a shade lighter than your roots, stroke upwards then diagonally to lift the hairs into a relaxed fluffy shape. For a lightweight look that lifts the face, my go-to products come from Benefit Cosmetics. For some color look for the Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel but if you want to keep it nice and simple the 24-HR Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel will do the trick!

Splashes of Color

Dominating the screen, Euphoria’s costume and makeup artists that taken the world by a storm. Playing with color and shapes, the fun, bright wings, and whimsical lines won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Whether you want to go all out or aim for a more subtle look, adding a pop of color is a great way to mix up your summer beauty routine. Urban Decay's waterproof eyeliner in Psychedelic Sister, a bright purple cream is an easy color to incorporate into your look while not looking too trendy.

Glowing Copper Tones

This summer is all about adding a bronzed glow to your dewy makeup regime. Create this look with a copper eyeshadow, bronzer, and lipstick in warm neutral tones. This makeup look enhances your natural skin while adding a stunning touch of color. Think of it as playing up your natural beauty and giving yourself a glow that lasts all day!

Glossy Pouts

Shiny, glossy lips are making a comeback. Oftentimes the word lip gloss brings back flashbacks of flavored balms with overly sticky formulas but let me tell you makeup has come a long way. For a soft polish to top off any look, aim for a sheer gloss with a hint of pigment for a shimmery finish.

Silky Skin Finishes

When it comes to foundation for mature skin, we're moving away from heavy coverage toward lightweight products that allow your skin to breathe. To get this look, apply cream or liquid blush and highlighter over a light base for an extra glow. You can even skip the foundation in favor of concealer or mix it with moisturizer to get just the right amount of coverage. Glotion by Loreal, either on its own, or a few drops into your favorite tinted moisturizer or foundation add's a warm, bronzy glow without looking shiny or plastic.

Personalized Haircare

As with your mature beauty routine, there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to taking care of your hair. Like your skin, your hair changes as you grow older. To add vibrancy, retain volume, and repair damage, look for formulas with key ingredients such as biotin, vitamin E, or hyaluronic acid. If you want to take it a step further, make your own solution! Check out customizable beauty regimes from function of beauty and build a shampoo and conditioner tailored to your specific needs.

Parting Words

Trends this summer can refresh your look without looking 'trendy'. For a fun, current look, why not pick one or two of these trends and give them a light handed try. Then enjoy BBQ, fun in the sun (with sunscreen of course!) and lot's of laughter. Nothing looks better on your face than a smile!
